Happy 37th birthday to one of the greatest players to have ever played the game, Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese superstar has won it all during his incredible career.

Five Champions Leagues, league titles in England, Spain and Italy as well as the European Championships and Nations League with Portugal.

In the process, he’s smashed all sorts of records.

He recently scored his 800th career goal and, in September, became the men’s all-time record international goalscorer.

But if you think for a second that Ronaldo is thinking about retirement on his 37th birthday, then you’re very much mistaken.

The Portuguese superstar shows absolutely no signs of slowing down and still has plenty to achieve in the game.

In fact, to celebrate his birthday, the Mirror have produced 11 records Ronaldo can still break before he finally hangs up his boots.

When did Cristiano Ronaldo make his debut for Manchester United?

2002 2003 2005 2007

100 Premier League and La Liga goals

No player has ever scored 100 goals in both the Premier League and La Liga but Ronaldo will surely achieve that feat. He bagged 311 in Spain’s top-flight and needs just eight more in the Premier League. He might do it before the season is out.

Most goals in a Premier League season

Ronaldo broke this record back in the 2007-08 campaign when he scored 31 goals. However, Mohamed Salah now holds the record after his 32-goal haul in the 2017/18 season. While he won’t achieve it this season with just eight goals to his name in the Premier League, he’ll be looking to go again next campaign.

Oldest Golden Boot winner

Jamie Vardy holds this record after claiming the award in the 2019/20 season as a 33-year-old. Ronaldo has a lot of catching up to do if he’s to win it as a 37-year-old but perhaps he’ll claim the accolade next season after turning 38.

Oldest Premier League hat-trick

Teddy Sheringham currently has this record, scoring a hat-trick at the age of 37 years and 146 days. Ronaldo will have to wait another 146 days to try and beat it but we’re not betting against him…

Man Utd hat-tricks

It’s a surprise that Ronaldo has just one hat-trick to his name at Manchester United. It means that he needs to score another SEVEN to equal Wayne Rooney’s record of eight hat-tricks at the club. This one seems unlikely.

First player to win Premier League at Man Utd under two managers

Well, it’s not going to happen under Ralf Rangnick. Mauricio Pochettino, anyone?

Most goals in a season for Man Utd

That 2007/08 season that we’ve already mentioned, Ronaldo scored 42 goals in all competitions. But it’s actually Denis Law who holds the record with 46 strikes during the 1963-64 season. It would take an incredible effort for Ronaldo to beat that.

Most Champions League titles

Real Madrid legend, Pace Gento, holds the record of six European Cups. But Ronaldo could become the first player to win six Champions Leagues if he lifts the iconic trophy once more in his career.

Man Utd’s top Champions League goalscorer

Ruud van Nistelrooy is the man to catch here with an impressive 35 goals in 43 appearances. Ronaldo currently needs 15 more to beat that so it’s definitely within reach.

Goals in a European season

Believe it or not, Ronaldo’s tally of 17 goals scored in Real Madrid’s victorious 2013-14 season isn’t a record. That’s because Radamel Falcao scored 18 times for Atletico Madrid in the 2010-11 Europa League. Ronaldo needs to score 12 more this season in the Champions League to beat that…

Most men’s international caps

Ronaldo is the record international goalscorer in men’s football but how about appearances? Well, he’s played 184 times for Portugal to date. The record is currently held by Malaysia legend Soh Chin Ann, who played 219 for his country. Can Ronaldo play 35 more international matches before he retires?
