In an interview with broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, Inter defender Cristiano Biraghi has shared his delight following his return to the Nerazzurri but firstly spoke on this weekend’s match with Sassuolo.
“It is normal that wearing the Azzurri shirt is always an honour. Now the international break is over, I must think about Inter because on Sunday we have a very important match and must approach it with the right mindset,” he said.
“We want to get back to winning ways immediately. We know we faced a difficult team in Juventus in our last match and we will analyse the things that did not go well in order to improve. It is certainly not a defeat that will make us change the way we think nor the mentality that the coach gives us.”
He then spoke on the injuries that Danilo D’Ambrosio and Alexis Sanchez sustained during the international break.
“Injuries are part of the season, we have lost two important players and feel sorry for them. We hope that they will recover as soon as possible but we are calm because there are other players who will do well. Injuries can happen, the important thing is to be ready when they do.”
Next he spoke on his Inter return.
“It was a beautiful thing, a dream come true. I went away a kid and I came back a man. I am happy to be here, it is the dream I worked for. Now I want to continue working.”
He then returned to discuss the match with Juventus.
“We started this journey knowing that we were facing a new cycle and that there would be difficulties. The important thing is to face them, wanting to improve day by day. We have stored this mentality, we have lost a game and we are angry; now we want revenge.”
He concluded by looking ahead to the Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund.
“On Sunday we have a very important game that we want to win, then we will think about Borussia Dortmund. It will be difficult, but we want to win. We have the fortune of being able to play at home and that will help us.”
