Cristian Insaurralde has posted a heartfelt goodbye message to América fans after leaving the club.
The midfielder had spent six months on loan from O’Higgins and helped the club to a 13th title triumph in December.
However, his time with the club has come to an end and he is expected to join Newell’s Old Boys.
Posting a message to supporters on Tuesday night, he said: “Today I have to say goodbye again, thank you very much @clubamerica for opening the doors of their glorious home and allowing me to grow professionally, and above all for having let me be part of a title that puts them top in Mexican football.
“I regret going the way I least wanted, but that’s what this blessed sport is like, today you’re here tomorrow you’re not.
“I want you to know that I gave my all during my time in the club, I fought against any obstacle in the way and in the end I had a drop of grace to be able to play. I try to do the best I can every time I play, and I leave very grateful and happy for the love that the fans showed me this last time.
“I have no more words than thanks to all, leaders, coaching staff, medical staff, my dear companions.”
