“El Chicote” does not plan on leaving Guadalajara anytime soon, especially since he’s just arrived.
Cristian Calderón, who turned 23 on Sunday, responded to rumors that had Chivas selling him in order for the left-back to join Monterrey for the 2020 Apertura campaign.
The rojiblanco player has only featured six times for Chivas thus far, scoring twice, but does not have an exit in mind.
“I feel very happy, very happy to be at Chivas,” Calderón said. “Obviously it is a very big challenge.
“I envision myself being a champion and raising the cup here. Raising a title is a dream for me and for those who come to Chivas.
“I also envision myself playing in Europe and why not dream of lifting a title?
“I envision myself being champion here, arriving in Europe, and being a champion there.”
Calderón is under contract at Chivas until the end of 2022 and is generally looked at as Mexico’s future long-term left-back.
