Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has created the most chances in consecutive Premier League seasons.
He is the first player to achieve this feat since former Chelsea star Eden Hazard. Fernandes created 119 and 114 chances in the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons respectively.
The Portugal international has been magnificent since he arrived at Old Trafford in 2020.
This campaign has been a dreadful one for Man United. They have finished in eighth place in the English top flight.
They must beat Manchester City in the FA Cup final next week at Wembley Stadium or they will miss out on European football for next season.
Fernandes has featured 47 times this season, bagging 15 goals and registering 12 assists. Only Rasmus Hojlund has scored more goals (16) than the midfielder.
The Portuguese playmaker has been the catalyst for United’s most threatening attacking combinations and has dug United out of plenty of holes.
Creating over 100 chances for two consecutive campaigns is no easy feat. Despite this, United have struggled to find the back of the net.
The €70 million-rated star wears his heart on his sleeve, which is evident during the games.
His preferred position is number 10, but he has often been forced to play out wide to accommodate other United players.
His current deal with United expires in June 2026, but there is an option to extend it for another year.
However, the Red Devils must consider extending his contract soon to recognise his efforts and contribution.
United must build their team around the Portuguese, as he has the mentality to succeed.
