Yorkshireman Craig Pawson will take over refereeing duties for Manchester City's FA Community Shield face-off against competitive rivals Liverpool. The game kicks off at 17:00 (BST) on the 30th of July and will be broadcasted live on ITV.
The Sheffield-born referee has taken charge of 21 previous games featuring the Blues. City have come out on top in 14 of these games, with 4 draws and 3 losses. Pawson has brandished 36 yellow cards and awarded 6 penalty kicks to City in that time.
The last time Pawson refereed a City game was the away trip to Turf Moor, which ended with a 2-0 victory for Pep Guardiola's side. The Premier League champions have lost just one game in the last 10 matches that Pawson has taken charge of.
