In a disappointing end to the season, Coventry City were unable to secure a play-off spot after losing five of their final six games.

Despite this, it was still a season to be proud of with only penalties separating them from a game against Manchester City in the FA Cup Final.

With the club now preparing for another season in the second tier, the ambition will be to move ever closer to those promotion spots.

To do that, signings and outgoings will be important and at FLW we have taken a look at all the current transfer dealings around Coventry City.

Coventry interest in Alvyn Sanches

As per the Daily Express, Coventry City are believed to be one of a number of clubs that are targeting young Swiss midfielder Alvyn Sanches.

The 21-year-old is currently plying his trade at FC-Lausanne Sport in the Swiss Super League and, in a team that struggled last season, he has been praised for his brilliant individual performances.

Since making his debut at 18-years-old, he has notched up over 80 senior appearances and in that time has played a hand in 27 goals.

Lausanne are understood to be willing to let Sanches leave but only if their £4.3 million valuation is met. Additionally, Coventry will have to fight off a number of clubs, with Celtic and Stoke City two further names mentioned by the Daily Express.

Able to play in central and attacking midfield, the youth international may prove an ideal replacement for the soon out-of-contract Callum O'Hare.

Ben Sheaf and Callum O'Hare latest

For Coventry City, another position they may have to fill soon will be that of Ben Sheaf's, with the 26-year-old attracting a heap of interest.

As reported at the start of last month, Ipswich, Fulham and Luton were all showing an interest in the midfielder, who is rated at a fee believed to be in the region of £10 million.

However, recent developments by Alan Nixon state that Luton are going to be the first team to initiate a bid and are prepared to offer £10 million for the former Arsenal man.

Coventry's stance on this has not yet emerged, and it will be interesting to see if they would be willing to accept the reported bid.

For Callum O'Hare, it is a much different story. Despite being offered a new contract at the Sky Blues, he is believed to be looking for a move away.

As reported last month, West Ham were one of the interested parties, but Southampton are the latest team to emerge in the race to sign O'Hare. Whatever happens, it seems unlikely that the dynamic midfielder will take Coventry up on their improved contract offer.

Rudoni's £10 million valuation puts off Coventry

Huddersfield Town's relegation to the third tier of English football was expected to make their star player, Jack Rudoni, come at a cut-price fee. However, it has not turned out like this with the Terriers reportedly valuing the midfielder at an excessive £10 million.

Whilst Mark Robins supposedly saw the 22-year-old as an ideal replacement for O'Hare, this valuation was seen as extreme by the Sky Blues, and they have backed out of any potential deal.

This may come as a disappointment for City fans, but should Rudoni be searching for a move away from The John Smith's Stadium, then this fee could still be lowered. Time will tell and this will likely be a story that develops later in the window.

Interest in Josh Windass

On Sunday it emerged that both Coventry City and Hull City are in a battle to try and sign out-of-contract Josh Windass, as per Pete O'Rourke.

Son of Dean, Josh has been plying his trade at Sheffield Wednesday since 2020 and looks set to call time on his Owls career with his contract up at the end of June.

Scoring the winner against Barnsley in the League One play-off final has been the highlight of his career and a move to a Championship club would make sense.

At 30-years-of-age, he would bring experience into the Coventry ranks and could feature anywhere across the front line. Whilst no contracts are believed to have been put forward yet, you expect a possible deal to move forward sooner rather than later.

Marko Stamenic potential deal

Finally, reports coming out of Serbia state that Coventry City have had a bid accepted worth £4.26 million for New Zealand international Marko Stamenic.

The Red Star Belgrade player has been a key factor behind the club winning their fourth consecutive double crown in the Serbian SuperLiga. Appearing 35 times for the club, he has managed to score two goals and provide one assist in his first year since joining from Copenhagen in Denmark.

However, in conflict with Sportal's reports, Coventry Live understand that no fee has been agreed and that whilst Stamenic may be of interest, he will not be joining anytime soon. Therefore, this one will be a transfer to keep an eye on in the future.
