Coventry City will reject all offers for attacking midfielder Callum O'Hare in the January transfer window.

That's according to a report from Football Insider, who say that the Sky Blues see their chances of winning promotion from the Championship as more valuable than cashing in on the 25-year-old.

O'Hare attracting significant January transfer interest

Having missed the start of the season due to a knee injury, O'Hare has made a major impact since making his return to Mark Robins' side.

The attacking midfielder has scored six goals and provided one assist in 16 appearances during the current campaign, helping them mount a push for a place in the play-offs.

That form has not gone unnoticed elsewhere, with the Sky Blues' Championship rivals Leicester City and Southampton both reported to have made offers for O'Hare late in the market.

Meanwhile, it is thought that Premier League side Burnley, have also submitted a bid in an attempt to secure the services of the 25-year-old.

Now however, it seems as though the former Aston Villa man may not be going anywhere before the transfer window closes on February 1st.

Coventry to knock back bids for O'Hare

According to this latest update from Football Insider, Coventry are set to resist any offers that are made for the attacking midfielder this month.

That is despite the fact that O'Hare's contract at the CBS Arena is due to expire at the end of this season, meaning this is their last chance to cash in on him.

However, it is thought that the Sky Blues view their chances of winning promotion to the Premier League as more valuable than the fee they could get for O'Hare.

As a result, it is claimed they are willing to take a risk on losing him for nothing in the summer, by rejecting all offer for him this month, in the hope he can help them to the top-flight by the end of the campaign.

Speaking earlier this month, Coventry manager Mark Robins confirmed that the club have now offered O'Hare a new contract to extend his stay with the Sky Blues beyond the summer.

Coventry, Leicester and Southampton all in Championship promotion battle

Right now, Leicester, Southampton and Coventry will all feel they are in contention to win promotion to the Premier League this season.

Leicester are currently top of the Championship standings, eight points clear of Southampton in third, with the Saints currently one point behind Ipswich in the second automatic promotion spot.

For their part, Coventry sit sixth in the second-tier table, 16 points adrift of the top two, but a point clear of the chasing pack in the battle for a top six.

Coventry's stance on O'Hare the right one

It does feel as though this is a sensible stance for Coventry to take over this interest in O'Hare.

Promotion to the Premier League would bring in a huge amount to the club, in comparison to the sale of one player who has just six months remaining on his contract.

As a result, if this does result in promotion to the top-flight, it will put the Sky Blues in a much stronger position to strengthen their squad financially, than they would simply by selling O'Hare this week.

With that in mind, this is an approach that will no doubt go down well around the club, given keeping O'Hare feels like it may give Coventry the best possible chance of getting back to the Premier League.
