Coventry City and Anderlecht have both submitted bids for Heerenveen’s Milan van Ewijk, according to Sander de Vries. The 22-year-old right-back featured 40 times in all competitions last season, scoring six goals and providing three assists.
Heerenveen are reluctant to sell van Ewijk, as the youngster is set to feature for the Netherlands in the U21 European Championships this month. Positive performances during the tournament could increase his market value. Coventry, who narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League last season, could submit a higher offer for Van Ewijk. Anderlecht are also seriously interested in the former ADO Den Haag defender.
Milan van Ewijk is second on the list for the highest speed reached in the Eredivisie last season. The defender hit a top speed of 34.8 km/h. Heerenveen finished the campaign in eighth position and Van Ewijk played a crucial part in their success. Moving him away from the Netherlands will be difficult, but he could be a superb signing for either Anderlecht or Coventry. It’s not confirmed how much Van Ewijk will cost, but the defender still has two years remaining on his contract at Heerenveen.
