Glasgow Clyde College and Celtic Soccer Academy partnership was established in 2017. The purpose of the partnership is to deliver high-quality coach education support to students with the aim of developing the next generation of football coaches who are looking to establish a career in football. As part of the course students receive weekly coach education sessions from Celtic Youth Academy coach and International Soccer Academy Manager, Jose Romero focusing on the fundamentals of coaching such as structuring a session, delivering a session, coaching styles and communication skills.

One of the unique aspects of the course is that students receive an insight into the Celtic Way, which is delivered throughout the Celtic Soccer Academy staff, athletic development staff and other guest presenters throughout Celtic FC. Over the past years, our students have had the pleasure and opportunity to view sessions and have Q&A sessions with first-team managers, Ronny Deila, Neil Lennon, Brendan Rodgers and last year Ange Postecoglou held a Q&A after the students watched the first team train at Lennoxtown.

Students have had also experienced sessions with Willie McNab (Head of Children's Programme), David Healy (Assistant Manager of Celtic FC Women's team, the under U18 Celtic FC team, Neil Addington (Sports Psychologist Celtic Soccer Academy) and attended Celtic B team UEFA Youth Champion League games.

NQ Level 6 Football Performance and Coaching in partnership with Celtic Soccer Academy and HND Level 7/8 Football Coaching and Developing Sport in partnership with Celtic Soccer Academy, both have had great success as over the last few years, several students have successfully been rewarded with both part-time and full-time roles at Celtic Soccer Academy. These roles have included students working with the international and domestic programmes.

Students successfully completing the course at Glasgow Clyde College at Cardonald Campus will not only develop their football coaching skills, this programme also embeds SFA awards - Introduction to Football, Coaching Young Footballers and also Coaching in the Game awards. In addition, students will also complete SFA Goalkeeping 1.2 award.
