Could Chelsea’s Strasbourg link allow them to snap up French wonderkid Rayane Messi? | OneFootball

Rayane Messi (16) may have only just burst onto the scene with National 1 side Dijon but he may not be staying there for long. As reported by L’Équipe, the France U17 winger is attracting interest from across Europe, including from BlueCo.

Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Lille OSC and Olympique de Marseille are all interested in Messi – a name which certainly increases the hype around a player of whom big things are expected. Whilst Lille are very interested in the player, L’Équipe understands that it is the German teams who are leading the race.

However, BlueCo could also pounce. L’Équipe report that RC Strasbourg Alsace are also interested in Messi. The interest, in fact, emanates from BlueCo and therefore – at least in part – from Chelsea. Rules stipulate that Chelsea cannot currently sign Messi, due to the player’s age. At just 16 and as a foreign player, he is too young to be bought by the Premier League side. However, a move to Strasbourg with a future move to Chelsea in mind is a possibility.
