Former Blue Frank Leboeuf has admitted he’s “scared” for Chelsea ahead of Sunday’s Club World Cup final against Paris Saint Germain.

Chelsea have surprised many by the making the final, and it will be a huge test against arguably the best side in the world.

The Blues made the final thanks to a 2-0 win against Fluminense, whilst PSG destroyed Real Madrid 4-0 to set up what promises to be a fascinating match.

Leboeuf worried for Chelsea

Chelsea finished the season strongly as they qualified for the Champions League, and won the Conference League.

Enzo Maresca’s men have carried that form into the Club World Cup, and other than the defeat to Flamengo they have really improved as the tournament has progressed.

Chelsea have missed these big games against Europe’s elite and PSG will be a huge test of how far this young team have come.

The Blues are no doubt underdogs, and Leboeuf, who’s not been shy to criticise Chelsea has admitted he’s got very little confidence in his former side to get a result.

“I try to be optimistic for Chelsea, but according to what I’ve seen from both clubs, it’s hard for me not to predict that any team which plays against PSG, to not lose 3-0 or 4-0,” he told ESPN.

“That’s what it is. And I’m scared for the young boys of Chelsea, because that could be a lesson. Will it be a good lesson or bad one? I don’t know.”

Maresca faces selection headache

Maresca is sweating on the fitness of Moises Caicedo after he rolled his ankle at the end of the semi final against Fluminense.

However, Caicedo was seen in training on Thursday and there’s been no further update, which would suggest good news.

Romeo Lavia, who’s missed the last two games wasn’t seen in training on Thursday, with his participation for the final now in major doubt.

Dario Essugo could return, whilst Levi Colwill and Liam Delap have returned from suspension to give Maresca some difficult decisions to make.
