Both Empoli and Hellas Verona have shown an interest in signing Lorenzo Colombo from Milan this summer with the striker having returned from his loan spell at Monza.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via Milan News), both Daniel Maldini and Colombo have come back from their Monza loans without being purchased outright by the club, which may not be a shock considering there has been a change of coach with Alessandro Nesta taking over.

Colombo appears to have reached a point where he clearly has no future at Milan after a series of loan moves. The club is in need of strikers but it seems he is close to departing.

Empoli and Verona both managed to avoid relegation to Serie B last season despite very poor seasons and they clearly want to add a striker who, whilst never prolific, has a lot of Serie A experience under his belt now.

It is not yet clear whether Milan would like to loan Colombo yet again with an option for the deal to be made permanent, or if a full sale is favoured at this stage given he is now 22 years old and is not entirely in the frame to form part of the first team under Paulo Fonseca.
