AC Milan have not yet crossed the name of Albert Sambi Lokonga off their list of midfield targets, according to a report.

According to Corriere dello Sport (via 90min) the most concrete name is still Raphael Onyedika of Midtjylland because he is considered congenial to the Rossoneri’s needs, but his club are not willing to accept less than €7-8m while Milan have offered €5m.

The distance is not unbridgeable, but in the meantime Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are looking into alternatives such Albert Sambi Lokonga of Arsenal, who has already been linked with the Rossoneri in the recent past when he was at Anderlecht.

He made just 19 appearances in the last Premier League season and it is therefore possible that Milan try and take advantage of the situation and the player’s desire to find minutes.

Calciomercato.com linked Milan with a move for him in April, noting that he is a great friend of Alexis Saelemaekers and that he has been scouted by the Rossoneri during his growth with the Belgian club, having made 33 Belgian First Division A appearances in the 2020-21 season, scoring three goals.

Another idea – albeit very unlikely at this stage – is that Tiemoue Bakayoko stays at the club and re-enters the rotations, even if Nottingham Forest appear to be keen.
