Max Allegri has been linked with a couple of teams in the last few weeks, including AC Milan, and the manager is set on making a return to the bench in the summer. However, as a report claims, he could make an exception.
Allegri parted ways with Juventus at the end of the 2023-24 season and has since been available, though taking some time off in the months that followed the sacking. By the looks of it, he’s ready to get back in the game and is evaluating projects for next season.
According to today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (via Mediaset), Roma are very interested in securing the manager for next season. The Giallorossi are currently led by Claudio Ranieri, who is only set to stay until the end of the season, but there’s another reason why they aren’t pushing for an early Allegri arrival.
As the newspaper continues, Allegri wants to start from scratch with a new project in the summer and not arrive midway through the season. However, he would make an exception if Milan were to come knocking, as the Rossoneri hold a very special place in his heart.
For now, Paulo Fonseca is ‘safe’ but the situation could change quickly with poor results in the next few weeks. In fact, as reported by Daniele Longo, the management’s faith in the manager is decreasing.
