Empoli President Fabrizio Corsi believes Alessandro Del Piero would be a credible candidate for the FIGC Presidency but hopes all Serie A clubs agree on ‘one name.’
Italy and Juventus legend Del Piero has emerged as a possible candidate for the FIGC Presidency. Elections will occur in February 2025.
“I hope the whole Serie A agrees on a candidate,” Empoli President Corsi told La Repubblica.

Del Piero is the best scorer in Juventus’ history and the player with the most Bianconeri appearances. His son, Tobias, joined Corsi’s Empoli last summer and plays for the Azzurri U18 team.
“I’ve known Alessandro since he was a footballer, and he wasn’t only an excellent player but also a great person,” continued Corsi.
“Any activity requires nice people. Regardless of the final decision, I hope everyone will share it.”
Inter legend Beppe Bergomi has also backed Del Piero to become the new FIGC President from next year.
