CorSera: Romagnoli reflecting on Milan renewal and pay cut as Juve watch on
SempreMilan
Alessio Romagnoli is one of the players that could leave AC Milan on a free transfer at the end of the season. Compared to Franck Kessie, though, there has been more optimism of a renewal on this front.
The captain recently recovered from Covid-19 and he will play from the first minute against Juventus tomorrow. It’s an important boost for Stefano Pioli who has been forced to deal with many key absences lately.
According to today’s edition of Corriere Della Sera, as cited by MilanNews, Romagnoli wants to stay at Milan but the club simply cannot match his current salary (€6m per year). Instead, they have offered around €3m plus bonuses for the renewal.
The parties have, therefore, hit a stalemate in the negotiations and Romagnoli is currently reflecting on the matter. Juventus are observing the situation with great interest, per the newspaper, which is worth noting given the expiring contract.
