Fikayo Tomori has been heading towards an exit this season, but since Sergio Conceicao’s arrival, he has refound his importance for AC Milan, which would surely write off a departure.

This is seemingly not the case, though. When Conceicao arrived, reports suggested Tomori’s position within the squad could change, and that has been the case. The Englishman has refound continuity and Conceicao has not looked elsewhere.

Said reports also suggested that this would make a deal difficult for Juventus. Whilst this is true, the Bianconeri have not given up their pursuit, far from it.

Talks have seemingly continued, and a report from Corriere della Sera (via Milan News) states that the Old Lady have submitted a bit that works for the Rossoneri. Juventus would pay €5 million for Tomori until the end of the season, and then pay €25m plus bonuses after that, mandatorily.

This deal works for the Diavolo, and they did not ‘displease’ the management. The same cannot be said for Conceicao, though. A summit was reportedly reached between the management and head coach, with the Portuguese ‘furious’ about the prospect of losing Tomori, not only as a key player but also the idea of selling to a direct competitor.

What the outcome will be remains to be seen, but one would imagine that a deal will not go ahead now.
