AC Milan are in need of January reinforcements, and they are focusing on trying to get Jonathan David from Lille at the moment according to a report.

This morning’s edition of Corriere della Sera writes that the Milan management are pushing for a centre-back and a centre-forward ahead of the window reopening next month, given the problems in each department.

They add that the Rossoneri have ‘broken the deadlock’ for the Canada international Jonathan David, who last summer was worth €60m but his price has now been slashed. He scored 24 Ligue 1 goals last season but has four goals in 14 games this season, even losing his starting place.

That and the fact that his contract expires in June 2025 means that he can be signed for less than half of the €60m that was demanded in the summer. The Diavolo, who do not fully trust Luka Jovic despite recent encouraging signs, believe they can secure a bargain.
