From 2020 onwards, the Copa Libertadores could undergo an enormous change.
Currently played out between the best clubs in South America, talks are underway to include MLS and Liga MX clubs in the competition within two years.
ESPN report that CONMEBOL are considering the change but talks are at an early stage.
Mexican clubs features in the Libertadores until 2016, when a series of changes saw them left out. However, no MLS side has ever competed in the competition.
It has not yet been decided whether MLS and Liga MX clubs would take the place of South American sides or if the competition would be expanded.
