Norwich City and United States Men’s National Team striker Josh Sargent is set to miss out on the Stars and Stripes’ friendly against Colombia on Saturday.

Speaking in his press conference ahead of the match, head coach Gregg Berhalter revealed Sargent’s absence with a ‘nagging foot injury’, and that he could potentially miss Copa América this summer as well.

“We’ve been unloading him, then giving him some more, and then we’ve been testing him just to see where he is at,” Berhalter said on Friday. “For us it’s about how do we get him ready and prepared in a good way and then make a decision if he’ll be available.

“We’ll have to see if he makes it for the Brazil game and then we’ll have to make a decision if he makes it on the Copa América roster.”

Sargent scored 16 goals in 26 matches for Norwich in the EFL Championship in the 2023/24 campaign.
