Scotland suffered their first defeat in Euro 2024 qualifying on Thursday and will feel hard done by after a tough VAR call.
Manchester United ace Scott McTominay seems to thrive when playing for his country, notably netting a brace against Spain last time out in Glasgow.
When Scotland had their backs up against the wall this time, the midfielder stepped up and scored an incredible free-kick from a tight angle.
Yet while he and his teammates were off celebrating, VAR came into play.
Jack Hendry was deemed marginally offside in the build-up, even though he didn’t interact with the ball whatsoever, and the goal was chalked off.
McTominay shared his frustrations by slamming his water bottle into the ground, and Spain scored twice immediately after to win.
It was an incredibly harsh decision against what was arguably one of the best goals so far this season. The question is, was it the right call?
