Russo nets for Reds

There was late drama at Meadow Park as Manchester United struck the only goal of the game to knock out Arsenal.

In a game of few clear-cut chances, Beth Mead dragged a shot wide after United keeper Sophie Baggaley gave the ball away.

A foul by Martha Thomas on Mead not only resulted in a caution for the United striker, but also for opposing head coaches  Jonas Eidevall and Marc Skinner.

The decisive moment came five minutes from time, when Katie Zelem’s free kick was headed home by Alessia Russo.

Harder hat-trick sees holders through

Chelsea won through 4-2 at West Ham, where Pernille Harder hit a hat-trick.

Her opener had been cancelled out by Katerina Svitkova before the break but Erin Cuthbert headed home a Jonna Andersson cross to restore the advantage.

Harder netted the next two goals, with Halle Houssein pulling one back for the Hammers.

Williams scores Spurs’ winner

Tottenham Hotspur edged Championship leaders Liverpool 1-0 to reach the semi-finals.

Spurs had to wait until the last 20 minutes for the breakthrough, when Rachel Williams scored from a Jessica Naz cross.

Man City come from behind to win

Bristol City took a shock lead at the Academy Stadium as a cross forced an own-goal by Alex Greenwood but Khadija Shaw’s solo effort levelled the scores.

Shaw scored her second just before the interval and Vicky Losada completed the scoring following a defensive error.
