The draw for the semi-finals was conducted live on talkSPORT 2 this afternoon with Chelsea legend Gemma Davison pulling out the balls.
Emma Hayes’ Chelsea lifted the FA Women’s Continental League Cup last season with a 6-0 demolition of Bristol City at Vicarage Road in the final. They started their defence of the trophy against West Ham United last night, recording a 4-2 quarter-final success at The Chigwell Construction Stadium. The Blues’ reward is a home fixture against a Manchester United side who stunned Arsenal at Meadow Park in the quarter-finals. Marc Skinner’s side are bidding to reach a first-ever FA Women’s Continental League Cup final.
The second semi-final tie sees Manchester City play host to Tottenham Hotspur. The Cityzens came from behind to defeat second tier side Bristol City 3-1 at The Academy Stadium last night while Spurs saw off Liverpool 1-0 at The Hive. Manchester City are the second most successful team in the history of the competition while their semi-final opponents Spurs are yet to reach a final.
The semi-final ties will take place on 2-3 February 2022 while the final will be held at AFC Wimbledon’s Cherry Red Records Stadium on Saturday 5 March 2022.
