The draw took place live on BBC News’ SportsDay programme this evening and was also streamed through the BBC Sport website. Former England goalkeeper Rachel Brown-Finnis was tasked with conducting the draw.
Trophy holders Arsenal will travel to second tier side London City Lionesses in the quarter-finals while Chelsea will play host to Sunderland at Kingsmeadow.
The other ties are all-Barclays Women’s Super League affairs. Brighton & Hove Albion have been handed a home draw against Aston Villa. The tie was produced just hours after The Villans avoided expulsion from the competition for fielding an ineligible player during the group stage. Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur face a Manchester City side who have a good record in the competition.
The four quarter-final ties are scheduled to be staged on either Wednesday 7 February 2023 or Thursday 8 February 2023. This season’s FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup final will take place at Molineux, the home of Wolverhampton Wanderers, on Sunday 31 March 2023. The game will kick-off at 3pm.
