A move to Leeds United for Hoffenheim midfielder Anton Stach is ‘considered a done deal’ after ‘intensive negotiations’ saw the two clubs reach an agreement.
Despite having just signed Sean Longstaff to add to their midfield options, Daniel Farke wants another body in the engine room.
Leeds have been holding talks with Hoffenheim about signing Stach, with the Germans prepared to play ball provided they get at least €20m.
Now, according to German broadcaster Sky Deutschland, the move is ‘considered a done deal’.
Leeds and Hoffenheim have held ‘intensive negotiations’ in recent days to agree a €20m plus add-ons deal for the midfielder.
The Whites had already done the legwork with Stach’s camp and the midfielder has agreed a contract with the Premier League new boys.
With a deal with Hoffenheim now also in place, Leeds can move quickly to bring Stach through the door and put him at the disposal of Farke.
Hoffenheim had a dire last season in the Bundesliga as they finished just one place above the relegation playoff zone and are happy to cash in on Stach.
The 26-year-old midfielder has been on the books at Hoffenheim since a 2023 move from Mainz and has never played his club football outside Germany.
Leeds can now start to think about further signings and they are expected to move for an attacker, with Feyenoord’s Igor Paixao a key target.
The Whites have had internal talks about making a bid for Paixao, who was spotted at Amsterdam airport on Friday, raising transfer speculation that ultimately proved to be wide of the mark.
