There were some big stories in Chelsea’s win over Fulham last night.
Armando Broja got his first goal after almost a year out injured, and Mykhailo Mudryk finally bagged in the Premier League. Cole Palmer shone on his first start for us in the top flight.
Yet the man of the match was none of those, in fact it was a player who the club were desperately trying to flog as late as deadline day.
Conor Gallagher once again stepped up in midfield and played fantastically, looking far more of a £100m player on the night than his teammate Moises Caicedo.
A look at his stats show just what everyone was raving:
Gallagher has it all, but in particular the energy and commitment he brings seems to elevate his teammates too. 8 duels won, 5 tackles won and 5 ball recoveries is enough to get any team going.
When you combine that with a very solid passing game, you’ve got a great all around midfielder.
