His form means he’s in with a big chance of being part of Gareth Southgate’s final squad for the Euros in Germany this summer.

The 24-year-old has been ever present for the Blues and has captained the side for large parts of the season due to injuries to Reece James and Ben Chilwell.

Despite his form major doubts persist over his future with the midfielder out of contract in 2025, with talks over a new deal yet to commence, and he has been linked with a move to rivals Tottenham.

Gallagher earned his first call up to the England squad in November 2021 whilst on loan art Crystal Palace and then got his first taste of a first major tournament with the Three Lions in 2022, but was an unused substitute in all five of England’s games at the Qatar World Cup.

Gallagher is chasing glory with England at the Euros this summer.

The England international has been reflecting on his memories of watching England growing up and how he’s inspired by Chelsea legend Lampard.

“I remember watching England and the team with Lampard, David Beckham and Steven Gerrard when I was younger”, Gallagher said as part of a new collaboration with LG OLED TV ahead of the Euros this summer.

“Frank is a legend of Chelsea and England, he obviously got over 100 caps and a good amount of goals too.

“For someone to look up to, he is perfect for me.

“I don’t remember so many [details] of the games watching it back then as I was a bit younger, but now it just means the world to pull on an England shirt.

“It’s really special to represent your country and a very proud feeling for me and my family, I’m looking forward to hopefully putting the shirt on many more times.

“I’m buzzing for this summer, it’s an honour to play for England and to be at a major tournament is incredible, hopefully I can play my part as well.

“I just want to be part of the squad, be there and feel a part of it, we have a talented young squad with so many talented players, so it’s a really exciting time for England, I’m really looking forward to it.”

Gallagher’s immediate focus will be on helping Chelsea secure a top six finish with the Blues needing maximum points against Brighton and Bournemouth, and for Newcastle to drop points.
