Atlético de Madrid have finally completed the signing of Chelsea and England midfielder Conor Gallagher.
The 24-year-old moves to the Spanish capital in a deal worth a reported €35m, signing a five-year deal.
Gallagher was due to join the Spanish giants a few weeks ago but that initial deal collapsed with the Blues attempting to land Atleti man Joao Felix.
The move ends Gallagher’s 16-year association with Chelsea, after he joined the club’s academy at the age of eight.
Loan spells at Charlton Athletic, Swansea City, West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace followed, before Gallagher finally made his senior Blues debut in August 2022.
He went on to play 95 times for the club, scoring 10 goals and wearing the captain’s armband on many occasions.
And after earning his 18th England cap at EURO 2024 this summer, the industrious midfielder will now head to Atlético, where he will play Champions League football next season.
