Chelsea won their game against Crystal Palace today thanks to a late goal form Conor Gallagher, who came on as a sub and impressed his new coach with a wonderful strike against the team he played for on loan last season.

In typical modern footballer fashion he didn’t celebrate at all, given he spent a year having a great time on loan. That’s fair enough.

Speaking to Match of the Day after the game he said it was a “special moment” for him and that it was “written in the stars”. He admitted it was “unfortunate” it came against Palace but he was “buzzing” to get his first goal for Chelsea.

It was vital for him to score today to impress his new coach, and we can’t wait to see what Graham Potter can make of the talented midfielder in the months to come.
