Confirmed: S04 face 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 in DFB-Pokal | OneFootball

The Royal Blues have been waiting almost six weeks to find out who they will face in the first round of the DFB-Pokal. On late Saturday evening (5/9) it became official – the opponent is 1. FC Schweinfurt 05.

The 64th and final fixture of the first round of the DFB-Pokal has now been confirmed. S04 will face 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 on 13th September. The teams played each other in the first round two years ago, when the Royal Blues won 2-0. The match will get underway at 15:30 CEST; further information, including the venue, will follow shortly.

The draw for the first round of the DFB-Pokal at the end of July determined that Schalke would play the best amateur team in Bavaria. 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 lead the fourth division in Bayern, which was interrupted due to the Coronavirus pandemic and is planned to resume on 26th September. The original league leaders, Türkgücü München, have been promoted to the 3. Liga. The Bavarian Football Association (BFV) has decided that all games involving Türkgücü München should be discounted in the league as the fourth-division season continues.
