As anticipated earlier in the day, Milan and Newcastle now have a full agreement in place for the transfer of German centre-back Malick Thiaw on a permanent deal.
Football Italia reported earlier on Saturday that the Rossoneri were arranging the last few details of a deal to sell Thiaw to Premier League outfit Newcastle.
As called by Michele Criscitello and since reported by various outlets across Europe, Newcastle have agreed to pay Milan a fixed fee of €35m with bonuses of up to €5m for a total potential cost of €40m.
The deal was completed in the early afternoon on Saturday.

Football Italia understands that Newcastle want to bring Thiaw over to Tyneside as quickly as possible, with the Premier League season kicking off in a week’s time. Sandro Tonali and co. will play against Aston Villa in their opening league match of the 2025-26 campaign.
In terms of potential replacements, Milan have been looking at the possibility of pinching Giovanni Leoni from Parma, who is valued in the region of €40m, as well as Fiorentina’s Pietro Comuzzo, available at the slightly more affordable price of €30m.
