Manchester City welcome Bournemouth to the Etihad Stadium in the final home match of their Premier League season – with plenty still on the line.
A disappointing campaign across the course of the last few months as a whole has seen Manchester City’s ambitions slip significantly, and those struggles culminated in a second successive FA Cup Final defeat on Saturday afternoon.
A single first-half goal from Eberechi Eze proved to be the match decider as Crystal Palace claimed their first piece of major silverware in the club’s history, with City once again struggling to unlock a deep-lying defensive block.
That came off the back of a hugely frustrating trip to the South Coast in the top-flight, as an already-relegated Southampton side held City to a 0-0 draw and meant that Pep Guardiola’s side must take points in their remaining two matches as they aim for a top-five finish.
Manchester City know that they require a minimum of four points from their home clash with Bournemouth and away visit to Fulham on the last weekend in order to guarantee a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League.
Ahead of the meeting between Manchester City and Bournemouth, the Premier League have now announced the list of match officials to oversee proceedings at the Etihad Stadium!
The Premier League have confirmed this week that Sheffield-born official, Thomas Bramall will oversee proceedings between Manchester City and Bournemouth at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night.
The clash in the North-West will mark Bramall’s 25 game across all competitions having featured in the likes of the Premier League, Championship, National League, and FA Cup, with the majority of his outings coming in the second-tier of the English game.
Across his 24 matches so far this season, Bramall has handed out a total of 74 yellow cards, with two cautions followed up by a second bookable offence and a dismissal, with just the one red card and seven penalties handed out.
Bramall will be taking charge of his first Manchester City first-team match in his career, having overseen contests involving the club’s Elite Development Squad and Under-18s set-up earlier in his officiating development.
Accompanying Thomas Bramall on the field at the Etihad Stadium, the Premier League have confirmed that a duo of Nick Hopton and Derek Eaton will take up roles as Assistant Referees.
Overseeing Manchester City against Bournemouth from the VAR Hub at Stockley Park will be the allocated Video Assistant Referee, Paul Tierney and Assistant Video Assistant Referee, Craig Taylor.
Standing between the two dugouts and managing proceedings between Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola and Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola will be the allocated Fourth Official, Robert Jones.
