Chelsea have been drawn against Real Madrid for the third year in a row in the Champions League.
The Blues will be at home first before travelling to the Santiago Bernabeu for the second leg.
Our first recent meeting, in 2021, was the first between these two sides in the Champions League. Now it’s already become a regular fixture.
We won that first edition on our way to lifting the trophy, but Carlo Ancelotti got revenge last year when Luka Modric inspired Madrid to late comeback to knock us out.
Now we get a third chance to see these two teams face off.
This Madrid side look a step down from last year’s – although this Chelsea team are perhaps two steps down. There’s still plenty of time for either side to pick up form however, and Madrid are always dangerous in this competition, no matter how good or bad their league form.
If we manage to get past Madrid, we then face either Bayern Munich or Manchester City in the semi final..
