La Liga giants Barcelona have missed out on the signature of a defensive star long linked with a move to Catalunya’s capital.
That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who points towards Jonathan Tah as the player in question.
The name of stopper Tah has of course proven an altogether prominent one in the headlines surrounding Barcelona for several months now.
This comes after the Bayer Leverkusen star, ahead of the expiration of his contract at the BayArena, opened negotiations with the Camp Nou brass over a summer free agent switch.
At one point, it was even reported that an agreement between the parties was all but in place.
Recent weeks, however, had seen claims begin to mount that Tah, amid a lack of progress towards his Barca switch being made official, was growing impatient.
And as alluded to above, on Friday, the German international’s patience appears to have fully worn out.
As per journalist Fabrizio Romano:
‘Jonathan Tah to Bayern Munich, here we go! The German defender has agreed deal, Bayer Leverkusen confirm they have been informed. Bayer Leverkusen now wait for Bayern to make contact to discuss fee for Tah to be at the FIFA Club World Cup.’
