Confirmed: Athletic Club announce deal for Osasuna star | OneFootball

Athletic Club have this week finally made official a long-awaited deal for a member of the defensive ranks at La Liga rivals Osasuna.

The player in question? Jesús Areso.

The name of stopper Areso has long proven a prominent one in the transfer headlines across the Spanish media.

This comes with the 26-year-old, fresh off another fine season on the books of the aforementioned Osasuna, having emerged as a leading summer target on the part of Athletic Club.

Recent weeks had seen a number of rival Spanish clubs also credited with an interest in Areso, throwing Athletic’s deal into doubt.

As alluded to above, though, this week, at long last, the Basque outfit have landed their man.

As per a statement across Athletic’s official website and social media platforms:

‘Athletic Club and CA Osasuna have reached an agreement for the transfer of full-back Jesús Areso, who signs for the red-and-white club until June 30, 2031.’
