‘Concrete possibility’ – Real Sociedad ready to sell key player this summer | OneFootball

La Liga outfit Real Sociedad are giving serious consideration to parting with a headline member of the club’s midfield setup this summer.

That’s according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, who points towards Brais Méndez as the player in question.

Brais, for his part, has continued to play an altogether important role for Real Sociedad across the season to date.

Despite long-standing fitness problems, the 28-year-old has racked up 41 appearances across all competitions, chipping in with eight goals and four assists along the way.

It may therefore come as something of a surprise to learn that Brais’s sale has emerged as a real possibility behind the scenes at Anoeta ahead of the summer.

As per a report from market insider Fabrizio Romano:

‘Real Sociedad are considering Brais Méndez’s sale for the summer transfer window as a concrete possibility. Several clubs from Spain and abroad are interested and aware of potential exit this summer.’

Should such a transfer be forthcoming, it will mark the 2nd departure from Real Sociedad’s engine room setup this summer, with Martín Zubimendi having long agreed on the terms of a move to England with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
