The hopes of Spanish giants Real Madrid of landing Kylian Mbappé this summer could yet be scuppered, by another of the continent’s biggest clubs.
That’s according to Cadena SER (as cited by Diario Sport), who have on Saturday provided an insight into the latest developments surrounding Mbappé’s future.
The name of France international Mbappé has of course taken its place front and centre in the media headlines across Europe over the course of recent days.
This comes after confirmation was forthcoming that the 25-year-old has come to the definitive decision to part with long-time club Paris Saint-Germain, upon the expiration of his contract in the summer.
The aforementioned Real Madrid, long-time suitors of Mbappé, have in turn since been labelled the widespread favourites to strike a pre-contract agreement with the explosive attacker.
Some outlets, in fact, have gone as far as to claim that a deal being struck between the parties is all but imminent.
It will therefore no doubt mark a source of concern for all of a Blancos persuasion, late on Saturday, to hear Mbappé’s name being linked with one of the heavyweights of the Premier League.
As per the aforementioned SER, the entourage of the former Monaco man were this week in touch with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
‘One of his three representatives was in Manchester last Monday and met with several members of Manchester City before the Champions League match.’
Not only that, but it is claimed that the contacts were initiated not by City, but by Mbappé’s team themselves.
