An update on the wellbeing of Barcelona star Andreas Christensen has on Monday come to the fore online.
And the news, unfortunately for those eager to see the Dane back on the pitch as soon as possible, is of a less than encouraging nature.
Christensen, for his part, has managed to take to the pitch on just a solitary occasion this season, against Valencia back in August.
Since, the former Chelsea man has been undergoing treatment for a long-term Achilles issue, which recently gave rise to tendinopathy.
So, whilst the likes of Dani Olmo, Gavi and Fermín López inch towards imminent returns to competitive action, when can Barcelona’s fans expect to see Christensen back on the pitch?
If the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, no time soon…
The initial hope was that the versatile defender would be back at the disposal of Hansi Flick and his coaching staff on the back of the October international break.
As per a report from Diario Sport, however:
‘The Dane is currently undergoing conservative treatment, with its evolution, and his return, absolutely unknown.’
