Cesc Fabregas will get to experience his first Serie A match at the Stadio Sinigaglia, as Como have been given the all-clear after reconstruction work.

The team was promoted in second place in Serie B last season, but the stadium was not yet up to code for the top flight.

Their first three games of the 2024-25 Serie A campaign have therefore been organised as away fixtures against Juventus, Cagliari and Udinese, resulting in a draw and two defeats.

Their only Coppa Italia tie was also shifted to an away game, losing to Sampdoria on penalties in August.

The reconstruction work has been completed after several months and the Corriere della Sera and Calcio e Finanza report today’s inspection gave the all-clear.

The Lega Serie A has not formally confirmed it yet, but should allow for the Serie A match against Bologna on Saturday September 14 to be played at the Stadio Sinigaglia.

The work started in May straight after promotion and expanded the capacity from 7,498 to 10,584 seats.

They also installed new turnstiles and barriers, but more work is still on-going to install outside security cameras.
