Serie A side Como are set to sign Assane Diao from La Liga club Real Betis.
According to an update by Fabrizio Romano, newly promoted Como are closing in on Assane Diao as their first signing of the winter transfer window.
Manager Cesc Fabregas is expected to have led negotiations with the La Liga side and contacted the player personally to make the deal happen.
Como and Real Betis have agreed on a transfer package of €11 million but the details of how the payments will be made were left undisclosed in the update.
Diao, 19, has played with Betis for the last two seasons after travelling through the youth ranks of Badajoz, Flecha Negra, and Balón de Cádiz. He has made 28 official appearances since his first-team debut with the Spanish outfit, scoring four times and registering two assists, which came earlier this campaign. Diao is set to join a Como side which has shown an optimistic stance since getting promoted to the top flight this season.
