Como coach Cesc Fabregas feels that Inter Milan remain Serie A’s outstanding team, but that Napoli can push them all the way.
The Spanish coach gave his thoughts on the title race in the Italian top flight to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews. He also praised Inter coach Simone Inzaghi.
Early on this season, Inter have found that their most formidable rival for the title look to be Napoli.
Juventus are only a point behind the Nerazzurri. And city rivals AC Milan gave a real statement of intent by beating Inter in the derby even if some setbacks have left them chasing.
But it is Napoli who sit top of the pile after seven matches.
The Partenopei got their season off to just about the worst start possible with an emphatic opening day loss against Hellas Verona.
But ever since then, Napoli have responded by showing the most consistent form in the league.
At the moment, Antonio Conte’s team are the only one ahead of Inter in the table.
As far as the Serie A title race goes, Como coach Fabregas said that “We’re still just at the start.”
“But the strongest team in Italy is Inter,” he argued.
“That’s been evident since last season.”
But Fabregas then argued that “Napoli will be right there in it with Antonio Conte.”
“He knows how to win the Scudetto, the Premier League, etc.”
As a player, legendary former Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder won the Premier League title under Conte at Chelsea.
As far as Inter coach Inzaghi, Fabregas argued that “His 3-5-2 system is very dominant.”
“You can clearly see the movements that the players make,” the Como coach continued.
“It’s incredible to me,” Fabregas said. “Because it looks like total anarchy, but you can say that behind it there’s a ton of work.”
