Brentford suffered a 3-0 defeat to Comets at Barn Elms Sports Trust in Greater London Division One North action on Sunday.

Comets claimed all three points in a dominant display over the Bees, who conceded in both halves.

The west Londoners made a positive start to the game, as they worked the ball forward a few times in the opening minutes.

Karen Abou-Abdallah had an early chance for the visitors with an effort outside the box, but her shot went just over the bar.

Nia Bowman had Brentford’s best chance of the half inside the opening 10 minutes when her shot pushed the outside of the post.

Comets did well to hold off the early Brentford pressure and grew into the game.

The first goal for the hosts came on 16 minutes when a through ball split the Brentford defence, before the Comets striker ran onto the ball and finished well.

The home side doubled their lead just before the half-time whistle was blown, leaving the Bees with it all to do in the second half.

Brentford struggled to produce any real clear-cut chances in the second 45 minutes, as Comets remained in control and kept out any potential Brentford attacks.

Freya Walker was forced into making some brilliant saves for Brentford as Comets continued to come forward in numbers in the second half.

The hosts scored their third and final goal with 15 minutes to play as the side went on to see out their lead for a comfortable 3-0 win.
