There is good news for FC Bayern ahead of tomorrowâs Bundesliga clash with VfL Wolfsburg (17:30, live on DAZN). Noussair Mazraoui is back at SĂ€bener StraĂe! The Moroccan international began rehabilitation training on Friday and can now look ahead again.
There was a great moment for Noussair Mazraoui yesterday morning. Before the 25-year-old took the first steps towards his comeback with fitness coach Peter Schlösser in the performance centre, he was brought into the team circle by Julian Nagelsmann to greet him and was applauded by his teammates.
After being diagnosed with a Corona infection during the World Cup, the full-back missed Moroccoâs quarter-final win over Portugal (1-0). Shortly afterwards, he came back into action against France (0:2). The tournament was then over for him. After the World Cup, he was diagnosed with a mild inflammation of the pericardium.
The result was a weeks-long break with many medical examinations. It was a difficult time for Mazraoui, who moved to the Munich from Ajax Amsterdam on a free transfer last summer and played an increasingly important role under Julian Nagelsmann in the first half of the season. So far, the right-back, who can also play on the left side of defence, has made 18 appearances (three assists).
