The 22-year-old confirmed on Instagram that he will be “out for some time with an injury”.

Antony left a comment on the post of the winger, wishing him a speedy recovery.

He wrote: “Good recovery that you come back stronger Hermano”.

Diallo’s injury is a crushing blow to United

He has played an instrumental role under manager Ruben Amorim.

Not only has he excelled in his role as the right-sided number 10, but he has also added a fresh dynamic to the team when deployed in the right wing-back position.

His absence will undoubtedly be keenly felt as United enter the critical phase of the season.

INEOS allowed Marcus Rashford and Antony to leave Old Trafford on loan last month.

Rashford made the move to Aston Villa, while Antony embarked on his Spanish adventure with Real Betis.

Had £12 million-rated ace remained at the Theatre of Dreams, he would surely have seen plenty of action, given the current need for his attacking flair.

He would have been an automatic replacement for the number 10 position.

The Brazilian international has been in superb form for the La Liga club, already netting two goals in three games.

Amorim’s men will travel to London to face Tottenham tomorrow and all eyes will be on who steps up to fill the void left by Diallo.

The onus is on the players to stick together and deliver world-class displays.
