Star forward, Cucho Hernández, has been called up to represent the Colombian national team for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. The announcement was made by Colombia’s head coach, Néstor Lorenzo, who included Hernández in the squad for World Cup Qualifier matches against Peru on September 6 and Argentina on September 10.

Hernández, who has been a standout performer for the Crew since joining in 2022, has earned this call-up following a series of impressive performances. This season alone, he has scored 19 goals in 29 appearances across all competitions. His recent contributions were pivotal in Columbus Crew’s championship run in the 2024 Leagues Cup, where he was named the Best Player of the tournament.
