The Colorado Rapids may have been happy with last season's performance, until it came to the playoffs. They were ousted in the best-of-three first round by the eventual 2024 MLS Cup champions, the LA Galaxy.

While the defending champions are currently at the bottom of the Western Conference standings, the Rapids made a series of moves to help ensure that they will stay towards the top of them. The Rapid have made four moves like their nemesis, the Portland Timbers.

Entering this weekend, Colorado is seventh in the West. Rafael Navarro has arguably been the Rapids' best player with 14 goal contributions (11 scores and three assists).

Not wanting to settle on their current roster, talent was added all over the place. The Colorado Rapids welcomed four new players to their team in August.

Three more names, all in one payer for the Rapids

Alexis Castillo Manyoma was born in Puerto Tejada, Columbia. The winger has scored eight goals in 73 games for Cortuluá to begin his professional soccer career.

Manyoma switched teams to play for Estudiantes de La Plata, an Argentine-based club. There, he scored four times in 41 appearances.

The Colorado Rapids added Manyoma with a focus on the offensive side of the ball. With a -5 goal differential that may hurt them in the event of a tiebreaker with the MLS Western Conference Standings, they also brought in a pair of defenders to help.

Rafael Santos and Lucas Harrington join the Rapids, too

According to the Colorado Rapids' team Instagram page, "The club has acquired Brazilian defender Rafael Santos from Orlando City SC in exchange for $125,000 in 2025 General Allocation Money (GAM).

Santos, a Braziian defender who plays left back, switches teams and is now a part of the MLS Western Conference. The new Rapids defender comes to Colorado from Orlando City SC where he scored two goals in 75 appearances between 2023 to 2025.

Harrington is another newcomer to the Rapids. The 18-year-old is taller than most his opposition at 6'4'' tall. He joins Colorado from Brisbane, Australia.

He is the second international defender the MLS Western Conference playoff hopefuls added recently. This should go a long way for the Rapids when they face the LA Galaxy this weekend, who are red hot after a 2-1 win against Pachuca in the 2025 Leagues Cup Knockout Round.
