Carlos Carmona scored the matchâs only goal in the 38th minute to give Colo Colo a 1-0 lead in their Copa Libertadores round-of-16 tie.
Gabrielâs 54th-minute red card put the match out of reach for the visitors, who were lucky to not surrender any more goals in Chile.
Although there was just one goal, it was an absolute beauty. Colo Colo caught Corinthians out on the counterattack and strung several passes together, which ended in Carmona smashing home a rebound past Cåssio.
Corinthians managed only just two shots on goal in the match, largely to Gabrielâs sending off.
The visitors will feel robbed after two questionable penalty shouts went unanswered by the referee.
At the end of the day, Colo Colo were the better team and take a deserved lead into the second leg, which will commence on 29 August.
