Chelsea continued their impressive run as they thrashed Astana 3-1 in the Europa Conference League. They will now shift their focus towards the next lined-up game against Brentford in the Premier League at home this Sunday.

The Blues are a serious contender to challenge Liverpool for the league title even though the Reds have a comfortable lead. Anything can happen in the game of football and Enzo Maresca’s men would like to fight till the last moment.

Defence

As it’s a league game, Robert Sánchez should return between the sticks in place of Filip Jorgensen. The likes of Josh Acheampong, Tosin Adarabioyo, and Axel Disasi are all back on the bench.

Malo Gusto will return to his right-back position with Benoît Badiashile and Levi Colwill forming the heart of the defence. Left-back Marc Cucurella will surely start this game from his usual place.

Midfield

Enzo Maresca will once again deploy the holding midfield duo of Enzo Fernández and Moisés Caicedo. The duo is doing well in the middle of the park and will be instrumental once again.

Need to mention that the 19-year-old Samuel Rak-Sakyi was impressive but is likely to find his name on the sheet.

Attack

Noni Madueke is to walk back into the XI to take up the duties of the right winger with Jadon Sancho operating on the other side of the pitch. Cole Palmer was given the much-deserved rest and he should be fresh to take onto the field this weekend.

Nicolas Jackson also marks his return to the offensive line and leads the pack, replacing Marc Guiu.

Reece James, Wesley Fofana and Omari Kellyman are still injured and unavailable for selection. Notably, Pedro Neto picked his fifth yellow card in the previous league game and is suspended for this fixture.
