Former England midfielder Joe Cole was full of praise for Phil Foden after he struck for Manchester City in their 1-1 draw at West Ham.

The 20-year-old came on to replace the injured Sergio Aguero and took just six minutes to score an equaliser for the visitors.

"You can see he's got a hunger to score and it was an outstanding goal," said Cole.

"He looked like the best player when he came on the pitch. You look at the amount of money spent on some of the players out there and that's a young Englishman.

"He's an outstanding talent and after today Pep (Guardiola) will look at him with a different light because he changed the game.

"He's almost the finished article. We've almost been waiting for him for two years. Pep's dropped him in, took him out, dropped him back in.

"Pep gave him a massive honour when he said he was one of the best young players he's seen and think of the players that have played under Pep.

"You've got to talk about him as a focal point of Man City and hopefully England."
